Prototype Naval Aircraft Database
Here is a database of Prototype and Test Evaluation Fleet Air Arm and Commonwealth aircraft types. These aircraft were tested or service evaluated by the Royal Navy, the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment (A&AEE) at Boscombe Down, or the Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE), Farnborough between 1939 and 1945. Those aircraft that subsequently went into production 1939-1945 are not included here, see the full Naval Aircraft database pages for full information. For each type in the lists, a photograph, a short description (10 to 50 lines), technical data, history and preserved aircraft in museums are given. The lists are sorted alphabetically.
