-
These pages provide information about the Gallantry
Awards and Medals awarded to members of the Fleet Air Arm, for gallantry and
during campaigns or military service in time of war.
This site is dedicated
to the memory of all those who received honours and awards in the Fleet Air
Arm. The page is especially dedicated to the families of Esmonde and Gray

List
of all Fleet Air Arm Honours and awards
In July 1999, the Fleet Air Archive began to
list the names of as many Fleet Air Arm
personnel who had received honours and awards. In August, 2000 the list has
been completed as best as could be with available resources, for the
Commanding Officers, and TAGs. Future phases will concentrate on the other
aircrew and their awards. It certain that there are a few awards may have
been over looked, but not intentionally. The task was long and difficult not
to mention extremely time consuming.
The FAA Archive would like to complete the
Medal Roster list by adding the other Commonwealth naval aviator names to the
Honour rolls. If you know any missing names please contact the FAA Archive.
Meanwhile we will be undertaking further research and consultation with veteran
and veteran associations to ensure that this list will become as complete as
possible so as to ensure that the dedication, bravery and effort of these men
is never forgotten.
These pages provide information about the Gallantry Awards and Medals awarded
to members of the Fleet Air Arm, for gallantry during campaigns or military
service in time of war. Two types of award were made during WWII: immediate,
for single acts of bravery, etc. and non-immediate, normally given at the
conclusion of a tour of duty of between 25 and 30 operations. Citations
for immediate awards were published in the London Gazette.
