The aircraft was shot down, and seen trying to force land, smoking, into the jungle. All crew survived and were taken POW by the Japanese. Changi prison

Baxter, EJ, Lt RNZN, Corsair pilot of  1833 sqdn, HMS Illustrious. Took part in Operation Meridian II, attack on Songei Gerong oil refinery, Palembang, Sumatra. He received flak damage, and baled out on return after the operation. He landed safely in a valley, near Simpang, and was seen by his FAA colleagues running down a hill. He was taken POW by the Japanese.  Changi Prison? He was executed by the Japanese sometime between 18-20.8.1945

Brown, GR Lt, Drake, RG Sub Lt and TAG RH George, 700 sqdn HMS Malaya, 8.3.42. Ran out of fuel whilst shadowing German battleship Scharnhorst. Was rescued and interned by the Spanish.  The POWs later released after internment in Spain. 

The Swordfish was addes to the Spanish air force as HR6-1 on 6.12.43, retd 3.45 at Las Palmas, Gran Canaria 

The crew was later released 1942.

Failed to return to Berka satt., after  4 albacores took part in a dusk torpedo attack on heavily escorted italian troopship Victoria. Two hits were scored, then the Albacore crew was shot down, and picked up from their dinghy after 24hrs, by an Italian hospital ship.

The crew were involved in an attack on a Japanese cruiser in Malacca Strait, the engine was hit, and the aircraft lost oil. It  ditched in the Andaman Sea. Burns, JGV Sub Lt and Robinson, GH Sub Lt both taken POW, Murley, AR PO however was killed in the ditching.  POW Japan
