Cameron, D Lt 880 sqdn, whilst flying a seafire from HMS Stalker, FTR 9.9.43. He had been flying over the Salerno Beach and unable to maintain height, was obliged to force land on Salerno Beach. Taken Italian POW.  Both taken POW by the Italians and managed to escape.  Escaped.

Morris, LG Sub Lt, Taylor, JT and Cassey, E  LA TAG 813 sqdn FTR in an operation from North Front Gibraltar. They force landed between Ras el Farea and Ponta Pescadores, Spanish Morocco. All taken POW interned by the Spanish authorities, 30.3.42.  They later were released and arrived back in Gibraltar. 
 
J Casson RN OBE

Casson, J Lt Cdr and Fanshawe, PE Lt, 803 skua 13.6.40. Shot down after dive bombing attack on German battleship Scharnhorst at Trondheim, crashed Stjornfjord, Fosen. Both captured by the Germans and taken POW.  Casson first taken to Dulag Luft (Frankfurt), then Stalag Luft III. 

He acted as a codemaster for MI9 in PoW camps, and assisted Fanshawe in his role as a member of the Luft III "Great Escape" Executive Commitee. John Casson was also a leading actor in Stalag Luft III with Rupert Davies ex 812 squadron

Post war he played a Salvation Army preacher in On The Beach, the film of Nevil Shute's novel.

McLister, TJ Sub Lt, and Chapelow, K Sub Lt, 826 albacore sqdn. FTR on 15.8.1942 both taken POW, the albacore being shot down by AA at night over Mersa Matruh harbour. The aircraft force landed in the sea. The  crew were 7hrs in a dinghy before being rescued by Italian forces. Both taken POW.  No information No information

Failed to return to Berka satt., after  4 albacores took part in a dusk torpedo attack on heavily escorted italian troopship Victoria. Two hits were scored, then the Albacore crew was shot down, and picked up from their dinghy after 24hrs, by an Italian hospital ship.

Crane VR Sub Lt slight injured, PoW?, Sub Lt JL Mitchell, and L/A DG Ward both POW OK, later released.

Crossman, J Lt Cdr, 894 sqdn, seafire. FTR on  9.8.1945 to HMS Implacable after a Ramrod to Matsushima. The Seafire was hit by flak, and Crossman baled out.  Japanese POW He was captured just before VJ-Day, he was only held briefly as POW.

Finch-Noyes, GED Lt and Cunningham, HG (O) TAG 800 skua sqdn FTR 13.6.40 when shot down after a dive bombing attack on the German Battleship Scharnhorst. They  crashed at Mollenbakkengt, Trondheim. Finch-Noyes was killed and Cunningham taken POW  German POW 1945
