Hardaker, W Sub Lt, Pitt, JN Sub Lt, and Brearley, T L/A 821 sqdn, FTR on 5.8.1942. in their Albacore, after a bombing raid on enemy desert landing ground. They force landed at Fuka and were captured by Italian forces.  Italian POW 

The aircraft was repaired and flown by 9th Gruppo/4th Stormo, abandoned at Tripoli unusable on 23.9.1942.

Hockley, F Sub Lt 894 seafire sqdn 15.8.1945. Took part in the last mission flown by British aircraft in WW2. Seafire hit during digfight and caught fire, after hit by flak over Tokyo. Hockley baled out and landed on Chiba peninsula, East of Tokyo. Hockley was captured and executed the same day.  POW Japan. Executed 15.8.1945 nine hours after the war ended

Their Swordfish (P4127) was  captured intact to Stabilimento Costruzioni Aeronautiche, Guidonia 27.2.41
