Adula was a MAC conversion conceived and designed by the shipping company which owned this class of ships; the plan was initially rejected by the Navy but later accepeted. Generally similar to previous MAC conversions.
Adula operated as an escort throughout the war. Returned to merchant
service postwar, she was scrapped at Briton Ferry in 1953.
