INDEX OF NAVAL AIR SQUADRONS
The squadron was re-equipped with new aircraft with long-range tanks, embarking on HMS Ruler in January 1945 for the British Pacific Fleet.
The squadron disembarked at Schofields, Australia in March 1945 where it remained till July. That month the squadron again embarked on HMS Indefatigable for strikes against the Japanese mainland, and after VJ-Day was involved in dropping supplies to Prisoner of War (POW) camps in Japan, returning to Australia in September 1945.
