Operational History and Background

The squadron formed at Lee-on-Solent as a night fighter squadron with 12 Firefly INFs in March 1945. In June 1945 the squadron embarked on HMS Puncher for a few days DLT, the squadron subsequently being stationed at Drem until after VJ-Day, when it was soon disbanded in September 1945.
