In February 1945 the squadron embarked on HMS Colossus with 24 Corsair IVs for the Far East.In June 1945 the squadron joined the newly formed 14th Carrier Air Group, remaining that month at Tambaram, re-embarking from Nowra on to HMS Colossus two days before VJ-Day too late to see any action.
