Operational History and Background


The squadron officially formed at Brunswick in July 1944 as a fighter squadron with 12 Corsair Is and IIs, embarking with 18 aircraft in October 1944 on HMS Ranee for the UK.

The squadron disbanded in November 1944 at Machrihanish.
