On arrival in the UK the squadron absorbed part of 1849 squadron, re-equipping with 24 aircraft.
In February 1945 the squadron embarked on HMS Venerable for DLT, two weeks later embarking on HMS Vengeance for the British Pacific Fleet.

In June 1945 the squadron became part of the 13th Carrier Air Group at Tambaram, embarking from Jervis Bay on HMS Vengeance two days before VJ-Day, however the squadron remained on active duty till October 1945.
