Solent AeroNautica Heritage Centre
Vice Admiral Sir Roy Halliday, KBE, DSC, chairman of the
British Military Powerboat Trust and WW2 Fleet Air Arm veteran comments:
"We are tremendously excited that, after two years of hard work, our planning
application has been submitted with the full support of the local authorities,
including Hampshire County Council, New Forest District Council and Marchwood
Parish Council."
He continues: "I am confident that the Solent AeroNautica
experience will ensure that what is recognised as the cradle of world aviation
and technical excellence in marine design will continue to inspire and
encourage in this century and beyond."
Solent AeroNautica
Solent AeroNautica will be a brand new centre of historical
excellence aimed at informing, educating and entertaining visitors of all

The consortium currently includes:

British Military Powerboat Trust

R J Mitchell Memorial Museum (Southampton Hall of Aviation)

Dunkirk Little Ships Restoration Trust
It will comprise an Exhibition Hall, extensive workshops
where gunboats, high speed launches and Dunkirk Little Ships may be viewed
while being restored, a 255-seat auditorium/conference centre, a library
and archive with Internet accessibility and a café. |
