Edit
Hi to all, I wonder if anyone can help me find out more about my Dad.

His name was Alfred Arthur Woodroffe and he was a Chief PO stationed in Nairobi Kenya in the 1940's and aged about 26 at the time. He was always known as Arthur and came to the Fleet Air Arm from Rolls Royce Motors in Crewe Cheshire where he was an engineer and did the final testing on Merlin aero engines when the factory was taken over for aero engine production during the war. Later he was sent out to Nairobi with the Fleet Air Arm. He used to mentioned one of his friends was called Tony. he was born in Leicester and lived in Stafford around this time.

Dad passed away in 1997 and many photo's and mementos were lost. I'm trying to find out about his time in Nairobi, does anyone remember him? I particularly want to find out what exactly he did over there, what his job was, can anyone tell me?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with information or photo's.

Regards .......... Chris
