In February 1944, the squadron embarked from Burscough on to HMS Atheling for Ceylon.
In July 1944 the squadron embarked on HMS Victorious to provided cover during the attacks on Sabang, Sumatra.
In August 1944 the squadron rejoined HMS Atheling and sailed for Cape Town, but on arrival was absorbed into 1830 and 1833 squadrons and disbanded in September 1944.
